Airdate: Spice Girls: Live at Wembley Stadium

20 year old concert will bring back the memories for girl power fans on SBS.

It may be 20 years old but SBS will premiere Spice Girls: Live at Wembley Stadium next week (by 1998 Geri Halliwell had left).

This week Mel B confirmed all 5 of the troupe will be touring again.

“We are in the works of figuring the stuff out,” she teased. “I don’t want to say too much.”

The biggest British pop phenomenon since Beatlemania, the Spice Girls took the world by storm in 1996 with their first single Wannabe topping the charts in over 30 countries and creating a wave of success that no other girl band has ever been capable of emulating. Live At Wembley Stadium features the newly formed quartet of 1998 performing to 52,000 screaming fans at the grand finale of their epic Spiceworld Tour.

Saturday May 19 on SBS
NSW, ACT, TAS, QLD, VIC – 11.00pm
SA, NT – 10.30pm
Western Australia – 9.00pm

  1. Gee… I remember listening to that concert on Foxtel’s analogue PPV channel.

Back then you could listen to a PPV event as only the image was scrambled. Since it was a music concert, the audio was more important than the video. Saved me $20 from memory

  2. The teenage boy inside me just wet his pants a little with excitement reading this. Especially since mum through away my VHS copy of it! 🙂 Pfft, VHS!
