Nine to replay Love Island

Nine has a change of heart and can't resist drawing on its primary channel audience after all.

Nine has decided to replay Love Island on its primary channel after all.

It will screen late night next week over 4 nights after its 8:30 premiere on 9GO!

Nine:
Sunday 10pm
Monday 10:45pm
Tuesday 10:45pm
Wednesday 11pm

Earlier this year Nine Programmer Hamish Turner told TV Tonight Nine would resist the urge to screen it on Nine.

“It will definitely stay on 9GO! that’s fundamental to the strategy behind doing it,” he said.

“To be true to the format we have to deliver to a pure 16-39 audience and GO! allows us to do that.”

It isn’t clear if the show will screen on Nine after launch week.

  1. and yet they still dont have it on Thurs nights, do they think that age group all have 4 day weekends & go out partying all of those nights??

  2. This seems totally appropriate since there’s is bugger all on abc, 7, 9 & 10 at that hour. It makes no sense to me to keep chasing different demographics on certain channels at all time slots.

What is it that rates after 9.30pm? If its all crap its not going to rate well, eg thurs night, 2004 episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares on 7, funniest video show on 9, are they saying people outside of ages 16-39 watch crap? Love Island is trash tv of course, but its at least new content in a format thats been popular with viewers in the past
