Aaron Glennane cast in Snowpiercer

Aussie Aaron Glennane has been cast in the small screen adaptation of Snowpiercer.

Glennane, seen recently in Picnic at Hanging Rock, Mr. Inbetween and Drunk History, will play The Last Australian, a scrappy charmer from Perth with an intense desire to survive because as far as he knows, he is the Last Australian.

Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 Korean feature forms the basis for the TV series being produced for TNT in the US. Set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, it centres on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe.

The cast includes Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs plus Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto , Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Lena Hall and Fiona Vroom.

The series is executive produced by Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements plus the original film’s Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi.

It will screen in Australia through Netflix.
