Hi-5 cast member Lachie Dearing has parted ways with the kids’ troupe ahead of further casting changes by producers in Singapore.
On Facebook he posted, “I have had the most incredible journey over the past 3 years. I want to thank everyone from the drivers to the promoters, the swings and the two casts that I worked with, for the awesome times. What a blessing to have performed my last tour with my very talented sister, Brie. The memories most deeply etched in my heart come from my little Hi-5 fans. You kids have taught me so much. Music, dance and the joy it brings really is universal, irrelevant of race, religion or any other cultural difference. We may not always have understood what each other was saying, but when I sang and danced for you, we shared something special. I’ll never ever forget your smiling faces. I couldn’t be more genuine when I say I have loved being a part of Hi-5, but that time has come to an end. I am full of gratitude for the support I received during this time and I’m so excited to share my next chapter.… stay tuned!! ????❤️”
His exit follows confirmation Joe Kalou has also departed and the production relocated from Australia to Singapore.
Hi-5 general manager & executive director Jaenani Netra recently told TV Tonight, “The plan is to resume next year with some significant changes to how we rollout our content. We are also working on a new animation series, working very closely with a formidable broadcaster.”
Casting has been underway in Australia for stage performances while producers in Singapore and Nine are yet to confirm future TV cast or episodes.
