Aussie to direct HBO pilot

Aussie Kate Dennis will direct the upcoming HBO pilot Run.

Created by Vicky Jones (Fleabag) and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve, Fleabag), Run centres on Ruby (Merritt Wever), a woman living a “humdrum existence” who one day gets a text that invites her to fulfill a long-ago pact that promises “true love and self-reinvention” — if she will go on a journey with her “oldest flame.”

The pilot also stars Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).

Kate Dennis directed and executive produced the pilot for New Amsterdam and was nominated for an Emmy for The Handmaid’s Tale. She directed episodes of GLOW, The Mindy Project, The Tick, Preacher, and upcoming Foxtel drama, Fighting Season.
