  1. How incredibly unoriginal and backward looking. No wonder advertisers, viewers and the production community is turning its back on commercial television.

  2. Love me some trash tv. Love Island is just a lot of fun and escapism on a wintery rainy night and MAFS will hit the so-bad-it’s-good mark again no doubt.

  3. Looking forward to SeaChange but ads though. A concession I guess.
No announcement on AFL footy show hosts either! Excited for Bad Mothers. Will give new Amsterdam a go though. Reviews have been savage.

  4. Not a interesting line-up they still have most shows continuing, would’ve been good if they had another new Australian drama or something…I don’t know I’m finding myself watching less of Ch9 of late..

  5. The only show in that list that really excites me is the return of Seachange.I wonder will Kerry Armstrong return with the cast?I didn’t see her name mentioned there. She was so good in the original series.

  6. When they tout no-brainers like Today, ARIA Awards, sports and footy shows as “highlights”, it’s clear there’s not much in the exciting barrel.
Someone else on this website made a very interesting point recently –
Global television is in a golden era right now, yet Australia is woefully represented. Why?

    1. Everything is proportionate. If the US has 10 times our population it stands to reason they would make 10 times as many good shows and ten times as much crap. You can guess which does not reach us here.

  7. Typo Seachange ran for three seasons from 1988-2000? It is good news it’s coming back maybe Always Greener is next. Nothing overly exciting the Lego Masters seems interesting. I do like TTNY. Also hasnt Crime Investigation Australia already been done on Foxtel already?

    1. What a judgmental comment. If some people enjoy New Amsterdam, so what? Let them enjoy it. I don’t like reality shows, but I don’t pass judgment on those who do.

      1. Going by the massive success of This Is Us in America and its failure in Australia, treacle is an American preference. I am content keeping our culture, rather than becoming like them.

  8. For me it’s yet another disappointing year on Nine, about the 15th year in a row. I remember the days when almost every week night there used to be something I’d want to record on the network. Now it’s maybe two titles a year.

  9. Looking forward to a super lineup of shows and programs like Ninja, TBYG. I will also be looking forward to a new era of sport like Tennis, and Origin to be played at Optus Stadium, Perth, CWC19, Golf. The Origin games will not clash with the Cricket World Cup matches involving Australia. Hope 9 will still use ‘We Are the One’ Ident in order to promote the upcoming shows and by using the song Something Just like this by Coldplay.

  10. Super boring lineup. Nothing there interesting at all apart from New Amsterdam that I’ve already seen. Cheap and tacky programming!! Same old recycled garbage

  11. David, If a show, for example, The Bite Club, is not listed as returning then is it safe to assume that it’s been cancelled or ended?

Mind you TBC wasn’t all that good anyway …
