US yanks Heathers episodes after Pittsburgh shooting

Troubled series continues to hit problems in the US, however less so in Australia.

US comedy drama Heathers continues to chart a troubled path with US pay TV network Paramount pulling two episodes after a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue left 11 people dead.

That disrupted the chronology of the series which Paramount has been been airing in a binge style over the course of a week. An edited finale is still due to screen this week.

The series was pushed from its original March launch date in the wake of a school shooting in Florida in February. It was then scheduled to premiere in July, but after another school shooting in Texas in May, Paramount decided to pull the show indefinitely.

Paramount Network went on to pick the show back up after no buyer could be found. However it still has issues with the finale, merging episodes 9 & 10 into one edited version.

In Australia the series was originally due on SBS VICELAND but has since screened in full via Stan.

  1. I feel sorry for this show being screwed around so much, not to mention all the people who worked so hard to make it happen. Can we please hold off on the massacres for a while folks?!
