Entertainment rises to the top in penultimate week.

Ratings: As summer looms viewers are voting for entertainment over reality TV.

It was the penultimate week of the ratings year, but no show averaged above 1 million viewers. In another surprise neither Seven nor Nine scored the top entertainment show.

That honour went to 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention, followed by Hard Quiz.

Yet Seven managed another win, nabbing 5 nights and key demos. And the big red train is ready to claim line honours.

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. Nine won Sunday & Thursday. ABC beat 10 every night except Tuesday. ABC also beat Nine on Saturday.

Seven won Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth. Seven & Nine tied for Sydney.

Seven won the demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Seven: Seven News (924,000), Bride & Prejudice (Tues: 711,000), All Together Now (698,000) and The Good Doctor (675,000).

Nine: Nine News (Sun: 851,000), Paramedics (720,000), 60 Minutes (718,000) and A Current Affair (675,000).

ABC: Hard Quiz (743,000), ABC News (Sun: 675,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (682,000) and Australian Story (632,000).

10: Have You Been Paying Attention? (811,000), Ambulance Australia (560,000), The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds (519,000) and The Project (7pm: 408,000).

SBS: Pompeii’s Final Hours (251,000), Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy (221,000), Child Genius (192,000) and World’s Busiest Railway (185,000).

The 2018 survey year concludes this Saturday.
