Aussies in Cannes short-form competition

Two Aussie projects will compete in Cannes during MipTV festival next month.

Two Australian short form titles will screen at the 2nd Canneseries festival in April.

The festival is a partnership with Mipcom and MipTV organiser Reed Midem and Canal Plus, and runs just before and parallel to MipTV over April 5-10.

Upcoming SBS series Robbie Hood will screen in the short form competition in Cannes. The series is a 6 x 10 minute series by Ludo Studio and Since1788 Productions which follows Robbie, a teenage troublemaker with a heart of gold living in a remote Aboriginal community in Central Australia.

Described as “the heart-warming story of three friends who together are rectifying injustices they see in their community but while they may have the best of intentions, they don’t always go about it in the right way” it marks the debut of Pedrea Jackson (Robbie, 14 years old), Jordan Johnson (Blue, 13 years old), and Levi Thomas (Little Johnny, 16 years old). The series is directed by Dylan River (Finke: There and Back) and produced by Tanith Glynn-Maloney and Meg O’Connell, with Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson executive producing.

Also screening in the short form competition is Over and Out by Adele Vuko & Christiaan Van Vuuren.
