“It’s incredibly painful”
Health update for Grant Denyer indicates a tear in his lower disc, following an injury on the weekend.
Hopes that Grant Denyer will be back hosting Dancing with the Stars on Monday look slim if an update from wife Chezzi Denyer is any indication.
Speaking to his 2DAY FM breakfast hosts Ed Kavalee and Ash London today, she said, “We found out yesterday he’s got an annular fissure, which is a tear in his lower disc. It’s incredibly painful. It basically makes it impossible for him to walk, sit, or do anything other than lie on his left side.
“He’s in a lot of pain and it’s really difficult to watch. It took me back to when he broke his back 10 years ago. The pain is so intense when he moves, that you can’t help but get quite angry. And that’s not in his nature.
“On top of that he feels like he’s let the world down. He’s let you guys down, he just wants to be at work. It’s a really busy period.”
Denyer injured himself on the weekend swinging a sledgehammer on his farm.
The hard-working host was absent from Dancing with the Stars on Monday, with former contestant Denise Scott stepping in to assist Amanda Keller.
Filming of Celebrity Name Game, which is due to replace Pointless, has halted during his recovery but is expected to resume soon.
Ouch, get well soon!
