Canadian comedy Schitt’s Creek has been renewed for a sixth and final season.
The series centres around filthy-rich video store magnate Johnny Rose, his wife Moira, and their two kids David and Alexis. Suddenly finding themselves broke, they are forced to live in a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke.
“We are so grateful to have been given the time and creative freedom to tell this story in its totality, concluding with a final chapter that we had envisioned from the very beginning,” co-creators Dan Levy and Eugene Levy wrote in a joint statement. “It’s not lost on us what a rare privilege it is in this industry to get to decide when your show should take its final bow.”
The last season will contain 14 episodes and begin shooting in a few weeks.
Season 4 comes to ABC Comedy at 9:15pm Monday April 1.
