Airdate: Black Summer

New zombie apocalypse series begins this Thursday on Netflix.

Violence, adult themes.

Jaime King (as opposed to Chris Lilley’s Ja’mie King) stars in new Netflix zombie apocalypse series Black Summer.

Karl Schaefer and John Hyams serve as creators, executive producers, and co-showrunners.

Black Summer follows survivors of a cataclysmic event who contend with zombies — and each other — to reach a military evacuation site. Jaime King stars as a mother, torn from her daughter, who embarks upon a harrowing journey, stopping at nothing to find her. Thrust alongside a small group of American refugees, she must brave a hostile new world and make brutal decisions during the most deadly summer of a zombie apocalypse.

Thursday April 11 on Netflix.

  1. I kept thinking of comedian Benny Hill chasing some hapless woman with his trade mark comical music score playing in the background watching this show, Black Summer is also rather hapless really, it looks like a budget rip off of Fear The Walking Dead with some poor dialogue too dependent on coarse language, it probably would have been better made as a satire like Shaun of the Dead. Overall this show is yet another example of the lack of consistency criticized in some Netflix Original productions.

  2. I watched this first series, wasn’t too sure for the first couple of episodes as it is very different, however it sucked me in and I was left wanting more at the end…..highly recommended.
