Zombie apocalypse series Black Summer has been renewed for a second season of eight episodes by Netflix.
The series follows survivors of a cataclysmic event who contend with zombies — and each other — to reach a military evacuation site.
Jaime King will return and serve as a producer. Cast members Justin Chu Cary and Christine Lee will also return.
Co-creator John Hyams will now serve as the sole showrunner on Season 2.
Production will begin next year in Alberta, Canada.

What’s the difference between this and TWD?
There’s hardly any difference, you could almost categorize this show as another TWD spin-off. Netflix can get away with it because the Zombie genre keeps on keeping on.
Yes!! I was getting more and more worried as the months passed by that we hadn’t heard anything on a Season 2.
It is hands down in my top tier shows I’ve seen in 2019. A wonderfully frenetic, breakneck, dark show that often reminded me how the Walking Dead could and at times should… have been.
