New US dystopian drama The Passage will screen on Seven from next week.

Based on a series of books by Justin Cronin, and produced by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, this debuted on FOX in January and has been renewed for a second season.

It kicks off with a double episode.

Based on the best-selling trilogy, The Passage centres on a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could cure all disease but also wipe out the human race. Federal Agent Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar – NYPD Blue, Commander In Chief, Saved By The Bell) is tasked with bringing in test subject, a 10-year-old girl, Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney).
Humanity’s future lies in her hands.

Monday April 15 at 9pm on Seven.

  1. I Have not read any of the books but this TV version of ‘The Passage’ gives every indication of becoming yet another standard Vampire/Zombie show with eugenics representing the dark side while evil takes control the world. With so much Zombie/supernatural content already available this show will need to capture it’s audience right from the start and keep the interest factor up. The shows producers seem optimistic that the books future themes will provide at least 3 seasons, but as it’s made by 20th Century Fox we’ll have to wait and see.
