Dance Moms matriarch Abby Lee Miller, who served prison time for fraud, is returning to television in Dance Moms: Resurrection.

The series will be preceded by a special on her health recovery following her diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The road has not been easy for Dance Mom’s star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes.

Dance Moms: Resurrection will follow Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after effects of a cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began – the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.

Season 8 kicks off with a one hour special on Sunday June 9 at 6:30pm providing an inside look at Abby’s physical and emotional struggles while undergoing chemotherapy and learning to regain the use of her legs, all the while pushing forward to keep her dream of a new competitive dance team for the Abby Lee Dance Company alive.

Immediately following at 7:30pm, the first episode of Dance Moms: Resurrection will showcase the newest kids of the ALDC as they fight to become the best dancers they can be and earn a spot on Abby’s Elite Team – while their mothers fight battles of their own.

Meet the new dancers and their mums!

Mum: Ann
Daughter: Hannah (13)
As a former choreographer and pageant director, Ann expects only the best from Hannah – which means even if there’s no dance class Hannah is in the studio.

Mum: Adriana
Daughter: Kamryn (7)
An athlete since childhood, Adriana views Kamryn’s dance as a sport. Kamryn has been dancing she she was 2 years old and has placed first in many competitions.

Mum: Erin
Daughter: Savannah (11)
Former first grade teacher, Erin, quit her job to be a full time dance mum to Savannah. Erin will often film Savannah’s routines and play them back to show her what she did wrong.

Mum: Michelle
Daughter: Sarah (11)
Full time dance mum Michelle is a Pittsburgh native who has many friends in common with Abby. She has yet to find the perfect studio for Sarah and is hoping the ALDC will be it.

Mum: Ashley
Daughter: Pressley (11)
Ashley is a dance studio owner and former professional dancer. Pressley is following in her mum’s footsteps and has danced with Justin Beiber!

Mum: Joanne
Daughter: GiaNina (13)
Dance teacher Joanne has taught her daughter, GiaNina, everything she knows. GiaNina has already danced on Broadway, been in a movie and recently toured with Mariah Carey.

Mum: Tricia
Son: Brady (13)
Tricia is her son Brady’s biggest fan. Brady is the first dancer in his family and will do whatever it takes to make Abby’s Elite team.

Mum: Stacey
Daughter: Lilliana (10)
Stacey and her daughter Lilliana are back at the ALDC! Having left her job, Stacey is now committed to being a full time dance mum. She feels that she and Liliana have the upper hand being the only returning team members this season.
