Airdate: Dawn French: 30 Million Minutes

ABC Comedy screens Dawn French's first solo stand-up show without Jennifer Saunders.

On Sunday ABC Comedy screens Dawn French stand-up special, Dawn French: 30 Million Minutes.

Performed live in London’s West End, this marks her first solo show, without Jennifer Saunders.

Dawn has the stage to herself for the very first time. This time there is no Jennifer Saunders by Dawn’s side, no extravagant costumes, and no madcap characters to hide behind. This is as honest, moving and funny as stand-up gets.

Directed and designed by theatrical visionaries Michael Grandage and Lez Brotherston, Dawn French: 30 Million Minutes is comedy with a dramatic flourish. It tells the story of Dawn’s 30 million minutes on earth – and counting.

Dawn explores the most moving minutes in her life so far. Cancer scares, criticism from the press, her much-heralded comedy career and father’s suicide are all explored.

Dawn also delves into her love life and discusses the end of her marriage to comedian Lenny Henry and the ‘love goggles’ she now wears in a happy new relationship.

In this personal and extraordinarily revealing show, Dawn opens up to her audience, tickles their funny bones and touches their hearts.

9.10pm Sunday 5 May on ABC Comedy.

  1. I love Dawn French always have & I mostly enjoyed watching her perform a life story which at times was very funny & very honest but I was surprised at her delivery even the live audience didn’t laugh at her delivery. At times it was almost embarrassing. Specially the story about her mother in the bathroom hmmm very candid. Not sure if her mum was alive if she would approve. I hope they repeat the show as I I still enjoyed Dawns refreshing take on her life
