Nan gets a movie

Catherine Tate’s outrageous character Nan is getting her own feature film, This Nan’s Life.

The feature will explore the origins of the outspoken Joannie Taylor, who first appeared in The Catherine Tate Show, which ran for three series between 2004 and 2006.

Mathew Horne is reprising his role as her well-mannered grandson, Jamie, and will be joined by Katherine Parkinson.

Tate has written the screenplay with Brett Goldstein, who previously collaborated on two comedy specials, both titled Catherine Tate’s Nan.

Damian Jones (The Iron Lady, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie) is producing, Josie Rourke (Mary Queen Of Scots) is director and Warner Bros has pre-bought UK rights.

  1. I couldn’t warm to her character; so repetitive. The F word can be effective if used occasionaly but constant overuse to me is just pathetic. Some of our so-called comedians also take note. Goodbye Nan!
