From Cyclone Tracy to Black Saturday and the Port Arthur massacre to the Bali Bombings, disasters
have had a profound and lasting impact on the lives of many Australians. Stories of loss and survival
have shaped us all, but what happens to survivors in the years following the initial devastation? What
are the ongoing scars? How do you rebuild your life after losing everything? And can your ever get over it? Eight survivors from eight different disasters go back to the moment of impact, recalling exactly what happened, how they survived and ultimately where their lives are now.
