New 6 part dramedy Diary of an Uber Driver screens from mid-August.

Produced by RevLover and based on Ben Phillip’ blog / e-book of the same name, it stars Sam Cotton (Rosehaven) as Uber driver Ben who tries to figure out what he should be doing while helping others get where they’re going.

The series also features Zahra Newman (Wentworth, Sisters) as Beck, the mother of his unborn child plus esteemed actor John Bell, Caroline Brazier (Rake), Ed Oxenbould (Paper Planes, Puberty Blues), Julian Maroun (Romper Stomper) and Emily Barclay (Please Like Me, Sisters, Glitch).

Against the ticking clock of impending fatherhood, Ben is trying to negotiate his relationship with Beck (Zahra Newman), the mother of his child. He must decipher what being ‘relevant’ looks like in a relationship that seems to think he’s surplus to requirements. Luckily, he has a revolving car door of human behaviour to trawl through for clues.

Reminding us that we don’t always know everything that is going on in peoples’ lives, this smart and insightful series has a beautiful, poignant and humorous tone throughout.

Written by Thomas Ward (Please Like Me) and based on the popular blog and bestselling e-book by Ben Phillips, Diary of an Uber Driver is directed by two-time Berlinale Crystal Bear winning director Matthew Moore (Offspring), produced by Martha Coleman and Lauren Edwards for RevLover Films, and shot by The Fast and the Furious franchise DOP Stephen F. Windon.
