Conversation project without profile host

Producers have approached Julie Bishop for an interview show, but she is not on board.

Screentime has new interview project in development, The Conversation, in which interviewer and high profile guests converse on city streets, with cameras capturing encounters with the public.

But sources reveal reports claiming Julie Bishop is attached as host are not correct.

“…Bishop — never one to knock back a red carpet opportunity — has wasted no time in making a beeline for the world of international glamour and TV stardom she covets,” reports The Australian.

“And what a line-up of global celebrities budding feminist icon Bishop has in store for us, with an all-female first season casting wishlist that includes Michelle Obama, Princess Mary, Jacinda Ardern, Oprah Winfrey, Sia and Nigella Lawson.

“Now, that is some pulling power! It is not yet clear if Bishop has actually landed her glamorous international guests.”

Sources tell TV Tonight while Julie Bishop has been approached by producers, she is not attached and has not been been selling herself as a host.

  1. Feminist icon? Says who? What utter rubbish. She said she was not a feminist when asked. No real feminists admire her. Thank God she isn’t part of it, she would put me right off.

    Front Up meets Briggs.

  3. A cute concept for a talk show, but it sounds a little highbrow for the commercial networks and too expensive for Sky News or Foxtel. Andrew Denton’s Interview has only done so-so for Seven, and a politician hosting could be quite polarising for many, so I don’t like the chances of this getting up (not too mention Julie Bishop would have to agree first)
