Gap narrows in post-Logies breakfast battle

Ratings: Host broadcaster benefits on Monday, but not enough to defeat Sunrise. HYBPA? tops demos.

The gap between Sunrise and Today narrowed yesterday as viewers tuned in for a post-Logies recovery.

Both shows broadcast from the Gold Coast with Sunrise at Burleigh Heads drawing 255,000 viewers and Today at The Star on 211,000.

Meanwhile ABC’s News Breakfast amassed 113,000 / 47,000 viewers across two channels.

In primetime The Voice won its slot with 839,000 viewers, ahead of MasterChef Australia on 659,000 Back Roads (621,000), 7:30 (602,000) and House Rules (549,000).

Have You Been Paying Attention? on 704,000 topped the demos.

The launch day for SBS World Movies drew an 0.8% share.

Nine network won Monday with 29.7% then Seven 27.2%, 10 19.3%, ABC 16.9% and SBS 7.0%.

Nine News  was best for Nine at 1.01m / 982,000. A Current Affair was 836,000 then Hot Seat (586,000 / 345,000), and Buble! (252,000).

Seven News topped the night at 1.18m / 1.12m then The Chase (696,000 / 425,000) and Home and Away (661,000). SWAT drew 345,000 / 299,000.

The Project (563,000 / 318,000), 10 News First (412,000),  Kinne Tonight (314,000) and Celebrity Name Game (234,000) comprised 10’s remaining shows.

ABC News (725,000) was best for ABC. Four Corners was 467,000 then Media Watch (462,000), Q&A (329,000) and The Drum (172,000).

On SBS it was Medicine or Myth? (170,000), Great American Railroad Journeys (157,000), SBS World News (119,000) and Hugh’s War on Obesity (102,000).

Logie-winning Bluey topped multichannels at 215,000.

  1. I was on 9 by default…too lazy to change channels….the Voice had some good acts…but then sent off a really great one…young woman…I was with Kellie…why??….I do not normally watch.
    I did turn over to F1 at 10.30PM.
