A prequel of post-apocalyptic drama The 100 is on the way.
The CW has handed out a pilot with creator and showrunner Jason Rothenberg. The plan is to air as an episode in The 100‘s seventh and final season in 2020.
The Hollywood Reporter notes the untitled drama is set 97 years before the events of The 100 and starts with the end of the world and a nuclear apocalypse that wipes out most of the human population on Earth. It follows a band of survivors on the ground as they learn to cope in a dangerous world while fighting to create a new and better society out of the ashes of what came before.
The 100 screens in Australia on FOX8.

looking forward to this episode.
Your kidding
What a cunning move by CW, if the spin-off attracts enough audience it could be developed further.
The CW tried this twice before with Supernatural with no success.
They had backdoor pilots for Supernatural Bloodlines and Wayward Sisters.
