Seven Head of Corporate Affairs resigns

Exclusive: Stephen Browning has resigned after 20 months in the role at Seven.

EXCLUSIVE: Seven’s Head of Corporate Affairs Stephen Browning has resigned after 20 months in the role.

Browning came to Seven from News Corp, replacing outgoing corp. affairs spokesperson, Simon Francis and worked closely with then-CEO Tim Worner. The role is the key spokesperson for the network’s business and commercial affairs, outside of Publicity.

His departure comes at a time of network change, but is understood to be unrelated to an impending restructure from newly-installed CEO James Warburton.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Seven – it’s been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and friendly team. But for me it’s time to try my hand at something completely different,” Browning told TV Tonight.

“There are too many people to call out individually, but I do want to particularly thank Kerry and Ryan Stokes and Tim Worner for giving me the opportunity.

“I’m sorry I won’t be part of the next exciting chapter as part of James’ team, but I shall be cheering on from the sidelines.”

James Warburton is expected to make major restructuring announcements soon.

Browning will next be Head of External Affairs at Orica, based in Melbourne.

Seven has been contacted for comment.
