AACTA: Asia / Australia Film Forum

Actors including Remi Hii, Pallavi Sharda and Chris Pang will attend the 2019 Asia | Australia Film Forum in Sydney next week. AACTA is hosting the event as part of AACTA’s Asia International Engagement Program.

Launched as a part of AACTA’s Asia International Engagement Program, the Asia | Australia Film Forum will see successful actors working across Hollywood, Bollywood and China, and some of the best VFX Producers in the business, come together to champion the skills and achievements of Asian and Australian filmmakers while developing meaningful pathways for collaborations between Australia and the Asian region.

Cross-Border World Creation Through VFX

From world-building the Marvel Universe, to the oppression of Shadow, the slums of District 9, to the frantic setting of the new Chinese epic The Eight Hundred, VFX Producers and Artists Damien Carr (Marvel Studios), Christopher Townsend (Marvel Studios), Tim Crosbie (Rising Sun Pictures), and Samson Sing Wun Wong (Zang Yimou Studio) will take the audience on a deep dive through some of the most fantastic and complex worlds ever created for film and share their career highlights supported by an array of on-screen visuals.
Moderated by Paul Butterworth, VFX Supervisor at Kennedy Miller Mitchell.

Actors Working in Hollywood, Bollywood & China

Join some of the most exciting performers working across Hollywood, Bollywood and China to discuss opportunities and challenges associated with establishing successful, international acting careers. Panellists will share valuable insights into the differences and challenges experienced in both local and international Film and TV industries, as well as the importance of diverse casts, accurate representation and give personal advice for emerging performers and creatives, particularly those wanting to break in to international industries.
