ACA down but MAFS wedding still in front

Ratings: It's mixed fortunes for a TV wedding. Fat Pizza: Back in Business enjoys a lift.

An extended episode of A Current Affair in which two former Married at First Sight participants formally tied the knot, averaged 617,000 viewers last night.

Strictly speaking that was down on last Tuesday’s ACA of 746,000, but also up on its 7:30 offering of Paramedics.

Compared to other shows it was also in the lead: 7:30 (570,000) The Amazing Race Australia (553,000), Dream Gardens (380,000) and Zumbo’s Just Desserts (359,000).

From 8:30pm ABC was in front with Love on the Spectrum at 390,000 ahead of One Born Every Minute (309,000), movie: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (287,000), movie: Dunkirk drew 275,000 Also worth noting is a lift by 7mate’s Fat Pizza: Back in Business at 211,000 which topped multichannels.

Nine network won Tuesday with 28.5% then Seven 27.3%, 10 19.0%, ABC 16.3% and SBS 8.4%.

Nine News was best for Nine at 809,000 / 807,000. Hot Seat was 427,000 /

Seven News was #1 with 942,000 / 891,000 for Seven. Home and Away (566,000) and The Chase (521,000 / 339,000) followed.

The Project was 419,000 / 252,000 for 10 then 10 News First  Celebrity Name Game (179,000) and NCIS just 106,000.

ABC News (625,000), Quilty: Painting The Shadows (189,000) and The Drum (154,000) also comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was Insight (192,000), Dateline (178,000), Scotland From The Sky (173,000) and SBS World News (110,000).

    1. With respect they don’t have to think whether it will be popular overseas. They only have to look to the data and metrics from S1. Netflix doesn’t care about Aus broadcast ratings. Streaming services allow for niche shows to find global audiences. They have a show about blowing glass.

  1. Enjoyed TARA last night seeing the Instagram account holders leaving at the end!! I was disappointed in the speed bump being that both of them had to perform the jump rather than working together on a separate task.

    1. I think many were pleased at that result. Especially given the night before’s non-elimination leg. I am extra happy that the only reason they were eliminated last night was because they broke the rule about speeding. Just shows them that you can break all the rules you want, doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences though.

    1. Good news that it has been renewed but it really needs tweaking in the next season. There are many important small details that have been omitted, and the season hasn’t been as good as it could be. Hopefully more sponsors next year will mean more money to improve.
