Updated: Q&A returns with a Bushfires Special live from Queanbeyan.

Q&A returns to ABC on Monday with new host Hamish Macdonald for a Bushfires Special live from Bega, on the south coast of NSW.

Fire-affected communities will pose questions on the emergency response, climate change, hazard reduction and the recovery effort.

  1. The Bega Bushfire Special, has been moved to Queanbeyan as the Bega Showground that was hosting the program has been reopened as an Evacuation Centre as bushfires once again ravage the Valley. How are residents from the Bega Valley supposed to be able to be heard on a National scale when at present fires make it impoosible for residents to travel? Many approved audience attendees are again defending their homes, if they havent been claimed by the fires already.

    Furthermore, I have spoken with other audience approved people and they havent received the notification of relocation either due to poor telecommunications or no emails being sent to notify them. I think there are going to be many angry people at Bega Showground on Monday evening……

    Why wasnt this relocated to a local venue, such as the Bega Valley Civic Centre?
