Wentworth is the latest local production to confirm it will suspend filming -but this year’s season is thankfully in the can.
Production was underway on 20 episodes to screen as 2 x 10 episodes over 2020 / 2021.
A spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Fremantle and Foxtel have made the decision to extend the mid-season break on Wentworth from Monday, March 23 after the completion of filming of the first round of episodes that will broadcast this year.
“The health, safety and well-being of our cast, crew and all involved in the production is our priority.
“Production is planned to resume in late April and we remain on track to premiere season 8 in June only on Foxtel.”
Cast will also not attend a Wentworth Con fan event next month in April.
But it’s good news that a full season will still screen this year.

Pamela Rabe in civvies? Hmmm….wonder what that means.
With all the shit going on, Wentworth coming this year at least is a bright spark!
Now if only they’d push forward the premiere this year would make self isolation easier
