In a time of a global pandemic John Lennon’s Imagine was always the one to beat in MAX’s 1000 Greatest Songs of All Time.

It knocked off Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody for top honours this year, although the “all time” list varies from year to year.

  6. “Thriller” Michael Jackson (last year No. 4)
  7. “Livin’ On A Prayer” Bon Jovi (last year No. 3)
  8. “Sweet Child O’ Mine” Guns N’ Roses (last year No. 6)
  9. “Like A Prayer” Madonna (last year No. 8)
  10. “You’re The Voice” John Farnham (new to Top 10)

U2 drew the most entries with 16 songs with I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For at position 17.

Next were AC/DC and INXS with 14 entries each followed by Madonna and Queen at 13 each.

2019’s Tones & I’s Dance Monkey landed at #775 and Lizzo’s Good As Hell was at #944.

The oldest song to feature was Elvis Presley’s 1957 Jailhouse Rock positioned at #44.

  1. Well done to the late John Lennon! How was Pearl Jam’s Jeremy and You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate able to get included? I thought Pearl Jam didn’t make videos and when Errol Brown passed away You Sexy Thing wasn’t in “rage”‘s tribute.
