Move over Morning Wars

Backstage drama at The View is set to become a tell-all TV drama after the rights to best-selling book “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View,” were sold.

The book is written by Variety’s New York Bureau Chief Ramin Setoodeh, based on more than 150 interviews, with screen rights sold to PictureStart.

It chronicles the backstage workings at The View. The panel show created by Barbara Walters attracted headlines for its personality clashes and power struggles.

They embroiled Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Star Jones, while Donald Trump clashed with Rosie O’Donnell, who in turn feuded with Hasselbeck.

The TV series will cast A-list actresses to play Walters and her co-hosts.

  1. I watched ‘Daytime Divas’ on VH1 a few years ago based on the behind the scenes antics of The View by original panelist Star Jones. It was hilarious and It’s hard to see how this version will be better.
