Children’s Television was not immune from ABC redundancies announced yesterday.
Presenter Pip Rasmussen said on social media around 14 staff members from ABC ME’s Melbourne unit have also lost their jobs. Rasmussen has been with ABC since 2016.
There were up to 52 staff from Entertainment & Specialist let go yesterday.
When ABC ME’s predecessor ABC3 was launched on ABC in 2009, its live studio was at their former Ripponlea studios, now a site on the real estate market.
Just wanted to put this out there bc I’m sad about it all coming to an end. ABC ME will still exist of course but not in Melb. Big shout out to my team who have been making primo content for more years than I’ve been there. ABC has lost a lot of talent today across the board.

I had to look up what ABC ME was. I guess that’s why it’s no longer around …
It is around. The story makes this clear.
