More guest mentors set for The Voice

How The Voice has adapted to challenges set by COVID-19 restrictions.

More guest mentors are expected to join The Voice as it plays out, due to COVID-19 measures.

Yesterday it was confirmed The Veronicas and Marcia Hines will assist Team George and Team Kelly, respectively.

The Nine show has had to be nimble as it faces restrictions around travel and group access.

The crew has been split into two core teams to be able to adapt to any future changes.

Supervising Executive Producer Leigh Aramberri. “We have managed to work out a way for (George & Kelly) to mentor remotely via FaceTime and they will both be sitting in their red chairs via satellite.”

“More well-known and incredibly talented Aussie musicians will lend Kelly and George a helping hand right through to the finish line,” revealed Leigh.

While Blind Auditions and Battles have been completed, Aramberri confirmed there was never any talk of postponing or even cancelling the remaining episodes.

“The resounding feeling was ‘How can we adapt how we make the show?’ rather than throwing in the towel,” he said. “From the top executives at Nine through to the production team, everyone was so committed to the show, the artists and the music.”

Renee Bargh has flown back in and will re-join Darren McMullen. She recently finished her required 14 days in quarantine.

Fans have also been asked to send in footage of them cheering, dressing up and supporting their favourite Coaches and artists for a virtual crowd.

  1. Good to see the creatives are getting innovative. One thing I don’t understand in the age of TV wanting to save money is why move from one to two hosts? Both this and House Rules did this for their current seasons and it doesn’t make sense to me.

    1. I completely agree re: two hosts – on The Voice there have been episodes where I don’t think Darren McMullen has even appeared!!! Or if he did it was for such a minimal amount of time for me to notice…
