Rumour: Todd Abbott for ABC

Amongst the changes taking place at ABC this week, is one rumoured appointment yet to be confirmed.

Producer Todd Abbott (Please Like Me, Micallef Tonight, Geoffrey Robertson’s Hypotheticals, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey, Rove) is the hot tip to join the Entertainment and Specialist division.

ABC has been without a Head of Comedy since Rick Kalowski departed in February.

The talented Abbott (pictured, right) has been Creative Director with Kevin Whyte’s Guesswork Television since 2018. His various projects have accrued Logie, AACTA, Screen Producers, Rose d’Or and International Emmy Awards. His links to ABC extend back to being a development producer on triple j tv, Spicks and Specks and The Gruen Transfer.

This week ABC overhauled its content teams with Drama, Entertainment & Indigenous team, headed up by Sally Riley, to encompass scripted and non-scripted comedic content.
