Farmer Wants a Wife 2020: meet the cast

Farmer Wants a Wife begins on Seven on Sunday for its 10th Australian season, with returning host Natalie Gruzlewski.

Seven’s series screens Sundays and Mondays, this season also including weekly group gatherings… Has the show gone all MAFS ? I understand these vary, one week an Italian feast at a local pub, another week a country ball (presumably not like the boozy B&S ball Shaun Micallef just visited!).

Returning host Natalie Gruzlewski plays cupid once again as she brings together five new farmers – Alex, Harry, Neil, Nick and Sam – on their quest to find true love. From the thousands of single women who saw their profiles online and applied to meet them, each farmer has chosen their favourite eight to come and join them for a series of dates.

In a series first, all five farmers and their potential wives will come together every week to share their experiences. At the end of each event, one lucky lady is chosen to spend a one-one-one romantic date with her farmer when then return to the farm.

At the end of the farmstays, we’ll find out which farmers have found true love when they reveal to Natalie their chosen lady.

Farmer Alex

Farmer Alex, 29, is a sheep and cattle farmer from Cunnamulla in South West Queensland. The energetic larrikin describes himself as a loyal friend and brother who’s in touch with his emotions. Falling in love and becoming a dad is the number one thing this “love virgin” wants out of life.
What sort of woman are you looking for?
Someone I have a lot in common with and I could see as my best friend. I certainly want to find her attractive, but what I really want is a woman who shares my interests, is level-headed and is fun with a great sense of humour.
What values are you looking for in a partner?
I am fiercely loyal to my loved ones and I hope I can find a partner who feels the same way. I’m also an adventurous soul and need someone who is willing to go on adventures with me, but has the resilience to live in the isolation of the outback.

The small-town country boy with a big heart enjoys a simple life on the farm and prides himself on being respectful and loyal. I’m very generous and loving – I always put my partner before anything else and try to make them laugh as many times a day as possible!

Father-of-three Farmer Neil, 43, is a merino sheep farmer in Crookwell, New South Wales who can make the bed, cook a mean lasagne and recite Dirty Dancing from start to finish. Neil’s had his fair share of relationship ups and downs and is here for his second chance at love.
