Netflix has renewed fantasy series Warrior Nun for a second season.
Showrunner Simon Barry surprised cast members Alba Baptista, Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young and Olivia Delcan with the news during an online discussion.
The news comes around six weeks after the first season launched.
The series is inspired by Ben Dunn’s Canadian Manga series, “Warrior Nun Areala” and revolves around a 19 year-old woman (Baptista) tasked with fighting demons on Earth.

Warrior Nun grew on me as season progressed and I’m happy S2 is on the way. I thought Alba Baptista was great.
Warrior Nun grew on me and I actually enjoyed it better watching it a second time.
I note that in other forums the show got mixed reviews mostly from males, so I wonder what audience allowed Warrior Nun to cross the line and get renewed.
I’m happy though, I couldn’t imagine Netflix not making season two after the final cliffhanger ending.
Some recently released second season Netflix shows do seem to be lacking the creative appeal that made season one so attractive; supernatural show The Order is one such series.
I hope this wont happen with Warrior Nun.
Excited by this news! Really enjoyed the first season. Had a few small issues with it but otherwise it was great fun.
