SBS on Demand: Shut Eye

US drama from 2016 -17 Shut Eye screens on SBS on Demand in early September.

The series centres around the life of failed magician Charlie Haverford, who now works as a psychic and suddenly starts to have real visions.

It stars Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland, David Zayas, Isabella Rossellini, and Aussie Angus Sampson.

Two seasons will be available to stream.

Charlie Haverford is a scammer with a small chain of fortune telling storefronts and contracts building tricks for a family that controls the business in the greater chunk of Los Angeles. A blow to the head from a client’s angry boyfriend intersects with a hypnosis session while auditioning a new ‘clairvoyant’, and suddenly, a man whose entire life has been based on fraud begins to see and feel some very real and fundamental truths.

The second season follows the activities of storefront psychics and the underground criminal syndicate that controls them. It centres on a disgruntled former player in that world who begins to experience visions.
