The Cook & the Chef reunite

Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant reunited this week in the Barossa Valley.

Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant, former stars of The Cook & the Chef reunited this week in the Barossa Valley.

On her instagram, Maggie Beer said, “A longtime friend stopped by the farm for a beautiful lunch at The Eatery yesterday!”

The ABC series ran for four seasons from 2006 and 2009 and became hugely popular (it has replays on SBS Food). In less than a day her post has over 18,000 likes.

Back in 2009 Maggie Beer said, “The demands of filming on my family and business have led me to the difficult decision to leave the show. It’s been a privilege for me to have been able to share my passion for food with Simon and our audience. It always gives me joy when I feel I have inspired people to explore the wonderful produce that Australia has to offer.”

Simon Bryant added: “When I started the show I had no idea that my journey with Maggie about the love of food would teach me so much, and I’ll miss the camaraderie of our days in the kitchen together.”

  1. I really hope they do a new series, watching them together brings back beautiful memories of sitting with my wife watching the show, thanks Maggie and Simon and hoping to see a new series please soon.

  2. I finally saw an episode I had never seen before yesterday – the one where Peter Cundall joined them in the kitchen.

We watch a lot of SBS Food in my house – and love getting home in time for a wine and an episode of the Cook and the Chef

  3. It has! it’s a really pleasant show to watch. A little dated, but still aged well.

Wish there was some news/progress on the next season of Bakeoff (AU) – although i fear Foxtel has shelved it by the looks of things
