Breakout UK series I May Destroy You has been added to Binge from today.

The series created by, and starring Michaela Coel, explores the question of consent in contemporary life and how we make the distinction between sexual liberation and exploitation.

The 12 part series has won rave reviews since it was released in the UK in June.

It is also available at Foxtel On Demand, although a broadcast date has not been announced.

I May Destroy You tells the story of Arabella Essiuedu (Coel), a successful writer who finds herself feted as the ‘voice of her generation’ after a piece of writing garners internet acclaim. Overnight, her world is torn in two after she’s spiked with a date-rape drug beginning a radical exploration of self-discovery as she deals with the trauma that follows and begins to process the pain.

Forced to access every aspect of her life: her career, her friends and even her family, Arabella’s journey is both confronting, and at times hilarious, as she finds herself in some surprising places – and controversial conclusions.

I May Destroy You stars Michaela Coel (Chewing Gum), Weruche Opia (Inside No9), Paapa Essiedu (Kiri), Aml Ameen (Yarde), Adam James (Belgravia), Sarah Niles (Catastrophe), Ann Akin (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams), Harriet Webb (Plebs), Ellie James (Giri/Haji), Franc Ashman (Peep Show), Karan Gill (Flesh & Blood), Natalie Walter (Horrible Histories), and Samson Ajewole.

A co-production between HBO and BBC, the series is executive produced and written by Michaela Coel, with episodes directed by Emmy® winner Sam Miller (Luther) and Michaela Coel (104-112). BAFTA Award nominee Phil Clarke (Peep Show), Roberto Troni (Complicit) and Sam Miller (on episodes 101-103) also serve as executive producers, with fellow BAFTA nominee Simon Maloney (King Charles III) and Simon Meyers (No Offence) producing.
