Crocmedia staff awaiting test results

Staff at Crocmedia’s Southbank office are being tested for COVID-19 following an earlier outbreak at its SEN Radio.

A spokesperson told the Herald Sun: “The business is currently undertaking a deep clean to the potentially affected areas.

“Our absolute priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff and contractors and we are closely following all COVID-19 protocols as set by the Victorian Government.”

The SEN employee is not believed to be an AFL presenter nor identity.

Today a second case tested positive, according to The Age.

“Crocmedia on Friday reported an employee had tested positive for COVID-19 and today confirmed a second case,” a statement read.

“We are working with DHHS to complete all of the regulatory processes and precautions.

“Our broadcast services will continue to operate under COVID-safe guidelines – with most of our Melbourne-based on-air talent broadcasting from home studios as well as the utilisation of other inter-state offices and studios as required.

“We want to thank all of our staff – particularly our on-air and broadcast staff for their dedication and work practices during this difficult COVID-19 pandemic.”

It isn’t clear how the situation may impact on Crocmedia-produced shows on Nine and FOX Footy. Last night on Footy Classified, CEO Craig Hutchison did not host, replaced by Tony Jones.

Yesterday TV Tonight revealed two FOX Footy presenters who work at SEN tested negative, with one remaining in iso awaiting results of a second test.

Earlier, Seven AFL reporter Daisy Pearce was given the all clear after dropping out of Friday night coverage whilst awaiting test results.

Updated: A Nine spokesperson said, “Following advice from DHHS, some Footy Classified cast members are in isolation pending results of COVID tests. We have no reason to believe that any of them came into contact with the positive person.”
