9Now: The Block open for inspection

With no annual street event, Nine finds a virtual way for fans to see the completed Block online.

The Block has announced its first ever virtual “open for inspection” tour.

Scott Cam and Shelley Craft will take fans through the entire Block on 9Now, with ‘Blockheads’ Harry and Tash (VIC), Sarah and George (NSW), Daniel and Jade (SA), Luke and Jasmin (WA) and Jimmy and Tam (QLD). Fans will also get to submit questions.

Host Scott Cam said: “We were devastated when we realised we would not be able to open the doors of The Block to fans for the first time since 2003. In what has been a year like no other, I feel more than ever that we have a chance to really give something to our fans, with the opportunity to see these five magnificent homes and share their excitement with our five couples.

“The open for inspection tour is one of my favourite parts of The Block. No other show opens their TV set to 20,000 eager fans. Not only do they get to see The Block, they get to meet their favourite contestants and see the incredible work they have created. So I’m thrilled to be able to follow through for them.”

Co-creator Julian Cress added, “We’ve been overwhelmed again, in our 16th season, by the response from fans in what has been such a challenging year. This is innovative and exciting, and we hope our fans find this token of appreciation a unique and enjoyable experience.”

In another Block first, fans will be able to get answers to the questions they’ve been longing to ask by submitting them to their favourite Blockheads, Scott and Shelley. It will ensure this unique online open for inspection event is one to remember.

As well as having the best seat for this rare tour, fans can become part of The Block with the chance to submit photos as part of the best-dressed competition, with prize packs from The Block Shop up for grabs, another highlight in the program’s great history.

During the virtual inspections, brought to you by Domain, Alice Stolz will be on hand to give her expert opinion of each house and speculate on how the auctions could unfold in a property market attempting to recover from the impact of COVID-19.

Monday, November 16, at 7:30pm AEDT, at 9now.nine.com.au/the-block
