Big Brother House evacuated ahead of 2021 filming

Endemol Shine production staff and Seven host Sonia Kruger have been evacuated from the Big Brother house after a hazard reduction burn around North Head on Sydney’s Northern Beaches jumped containment lines due to weather changes.

TV Tonight can report filming with housemates for 2021 was due to commence this evening but none had yet entered the house.

“Due to the impact of a prescribed hazard reduction burn at North Head, the Big Brother crew onsite were safely evacuated. Filming is yet to commence and production will resume when it is safe to do so,” an Endemol Shine Australia spokesperson said.

NSW Police said commercial premises and residential properties around North Head had been also been evacuated. Around 50 firefighters are in Sydney Harbour National Park at North Head fighting to keep the blaze under control.

NSW RFS said the fire was under control and no homes were under threat, but upgraded the blaze to “watch and act” level just after 4pm. Fire and Rescue NSW crews and the National Parks and Wildlife Service are all on the scene.

  1. Could BB go up against I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in January?
They can’t possibly be thinking of running it against MAFS! It would be lucky to get 300k each night.

  2. Wow filming now! I pray they have made some changes in the way they evict so there is more suspense. Cant stand the way sonia did it last season. More time to get to know housemates would be good too. I hope the gameplay is better as well!
