Denise Drysdale has given an update on her health, following an incident on the set of Holey Moley earlier this month.
“I’m getting there. I went to the doctor on Monday, didn’t have to have an operation. Gotta go back in four weeks… then I do rehab,” she told Studio 10 this morning via phone.
As revealed by TV Tonight, Drysdale, 71, fell whilst filming a segment for the upcoming Seven show during the early morning.
“I fell over in a situation where I shouldn’t have even been. That’s all I can say,” she confirmed today.
“I wasn’t playing silly buggers. It was 3:30 in the morning and a segment I was doing shouldn’t have even been considered. I did it, and I shouldn’t have. I’ve learned a terrible lesson to learn at my age, but it has changed my thinking -again!”
She continued, “My hand’s in a sling. The whole of my left hand side …my foot, right up to my shoulder was all black and blue. I couldn’t move, but I can now.”
Earlier this month a Eureka Productions spokesperson said: “While filming Holey Moley in Brisbane last night, Denise Drysdale tripped on a putting green and sustained a shoulder injury. She is resting and receiving treatment. Denise is a national treasure and everyone is wishing her a speedy recovery.”
The veteran performer, who still appears on Studio 10 from her Gold Coast home, hopes to return to the show soon.
“Of course I want to come back. I can’t come back because I can’t do my hair, I can’t do my make-up and I still can’t get into a T shirt on my own,” she explained.
“When I can do that. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
It's important that we set this record straight once and for all. The below is fact. Not from "a source". https://t.co/mD2InNkBwA

I don’t think doing a stunt at 3.30am is congusive to good health.
I dont think working on a TV game show at 3:30 am is a good idea. OH&S anyone??
Her description of what happened is very puzzling. She said she did something that shouldn’t have been considered. It’s a golf show so am curious what she had to do. I assume she was cagey on details since it’s a 7 show. Will be interesting to see if they show her get injured. She said she wasn’t playing silly buggers & they implied some people had said she was.
I think it’s fair to say Craig Bennett does not like the former EP’s comments that Denise was playing it up. He described it as a “stupid report”, Craig tell us how you really feel!
71, really!
The show has been running for 2 seasons in the states and often has people in there 60s and 70s winning the whole competition.
Obviously not just a shoulder injury!?
Hmmmm. The whole thing sounds dodgy to me. I think smell a lawsuit.
Golf at 3:30am??
I love Denise. I hope she recovers soon.
They should pay her medical bills.
They can barely pay their own.
Loss of earnings too I suspect from that comment.
