Free to Air’s very competitive Monday

Ratings: 4 of 5 free to air networks drew healthy shares on Monday.

Monday proved to be a competitive night of television with 4 of 5 Free to Air networks drawing a healthy share, all above the 20% mark.

A profile Four Corners episode was the highest show on ABC all night.

Junior MasterChef may have been the lowest season in the franchise, but it rose to good numbers for the moment Georgia won the series.

Here’s how they stacked up…

The Block still won its early slot at 805,000 then 7:30 (713,000), Junior MasterChef (652,000 -rising to 881,000 for the winner announced), SAS Australia (584,000) and Australian Story (572,000).

Later Four Corners was high at 824,000 then Media Watch (715,000) and Have You Been Paying Attention? (620,000).

Nine network won Monday with 26.5% then Seven 23.3%, ABC 22.4%, 10 21.8% and SBS 6.0%.

Nine News (940,000 / 900,000) was best for Nine. A Current Affair won its slot at 778,000 then Hot Seat (447,000 / 302,000) and movie: Quantum of Solace (319,000).

Seven News was #1 at 987,000 / 981,000 for Seven. Home & Away drew 547,000 then The Chase (505,000 / 323,000). The Rookie drew 264,000 / 237,000.

ABC News was 764,000 for ABC. Q&A was up at 488,000 with The Drum on 190,000.

The Project drew 568,000 / 350,000 for 10. 10 News First was 331,000 / 231,000.

On SBS it was SBS World News (146,000), Great House Revival (122,000), 24 Hours in Emergency (116,000), Life & Birth (99,000) and Mastermind (66,000).

Bluey barked up another 374,000 on multichannels.

Today: 209,000

  1. To be fair they have been promoting it on air for over 2 weeks in the style of a “fake” finale week then the “real finale week” promos saying 2 part finale. I don’t watch a lot on 10 at the moment but when I have, it was bombarded with promos for masterchefs finale weeks, bachelorette and HYBPA

  2. 10 could have done a better job promoting the finale, I wouldn’t have known about it if not for TV Tonight – and thats with me being a casual viewer, watching most episodes. However, good numbers nonetheless – I hope there is a second (fourth) season!
