Cookie was actually his 3rd album. He also released two standup records in the 60s.
It is sometimes forgotten just how huge A Country Practice was back in the 80s, though I am sure that David knows all too well its cultural impact and how it was a launching pad for so many careers.
Heck, there were even organised tours you could take to see the outdoors locations (in the Hawkesbury region of outer Sydney) used in the show.
So many of the original cast became household names, with some still active on TV (such as Shane Withington who is a regular on Home and Away) . Even the relatively minor characters such as Esme and Cookie enjoyed a big profile (hence this rather strange album) on the back of ACP’s success. Novelty albums, advertised on TV, were fairly common in the 70s and 80s.
Cassettes are still available. Kylie Minogue has even released Disco on cassette
Are cassettes still available ?.
They aren’t made anymore but you might find an old one which might even still work lol
