Any relation to Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a half Century?
Yes, Duck Dodgers was a parody on the original Buck Rodgers serials.
The original 1930s serial shorts, intended to be shown at the cinema on a weekly basis, were shown on TV here in 1979 as episodes-were a hoot with no radar or other secret at the time technology-the bad guys were gangster mob bosses who had taken power. On the other side, the late 70s TV remake had a cinema release of the double pilot ep as did ‘BattleStat Galactica’ in the wake of the box office success of ‘Starwars’!
