Nine wins Week 2 of ratings

Ratings: Australian Open helps Nine to a second week, while Hard Quiz tops entertainment.

Week 2 of 2021 ratings goes to Nine, thanks to the Australian Open.

It drew up to 879,000 metro viewers on Day 8 -an adjusted figure for Ash Barty’s win over Shelby Rogers, but it was down on a Kyrgios match the preceding week.

Overall the 2 week tournament is also down on its usual January dates, but against stronger competition.

ABC’s Hard Quiz was the top entertainment show at 685,000 viewers, while Seven News topped the week.

Nine led the demos 16 – 39 and 25 – 54.

Nine won Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane. Seven claimed Adelaide & Perth.

Nine won every night. ABC bettered 10 on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday.

Nine: Nine News (Sun: 914,000), Australian Open (D8 Night: 879,000), RBT (256,000) and Today (210,000).

Seven: Seven News (Sun: 988,000), The Chase (520,000), Holey Moley (Sun: 510,000) and Home & Away (496,000).

10: The Amazing Race Australia (Sun: 564,000), Gogglebox (501,000), The Sunday Project (475,000) and 10 News First (362,000).

ABC: ABC News (Sun: 702,000), Hard Quiz (685,000), and The Weekly with Charlie Pickering / 7:30 (both 573,000).

SBS: Great Continental Railway Journeys (206,000), Michael Palin: Travels of a Lifetime (192,000), SBS World News (182,000) and Anne: The Princess Royal at 70 (181,000).
