Ghost Train allegations “never saw the light of day”

Episode 2 of ABC's Exposed investigation will screen allegations that were silenced for years.

Episode 2 of ABC’s Exposed: The Ghost Train Fire delves deeper into a theory of arson being behind the fatal 1979 fire at Luna Park in which 7 people perished.

The testimony of a key group of people, who have never gone public with their story suggests something sinister occurred. So volatile are some of the revelations that ABC is not expected to release a media preview.

Journalist Caro Meldrum-Hanna tells TV Tonight, “You will meet people in episodes two and three, who have held onto these silences, but also who were silenced at the time. Their allegations are very serious but what they heard and saw, never saw the light of day. Never came out in the inquiries. They’ve felt that the truth has never been told …they were just hushed up… and have carried this terrible sense of injustice for years,” she says.

“We tracked down this incredible cast of characters. They tell us that they live in fear of their life still. They’ve moved around the country. They are so frightened of being tracked down because of what they heard and saw that night, and what they experienced at the hands of the authorities. It’s heavy stuff.

“It brings a whole new, untold story to what was going on.”

Exposed: The Ghost Train Fire continues 8:30pm Tuesday on ABC.
