SAS Australia team in quarantine before filming

Ant Middleton & DS staff arrived in Australia on the weekend to begin quarantine.

Instructors for SAS Australia have arrived back in Australia to quarantine ahead of filming a new series for Seven.

“Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride they say!” Ant Middleton posted on Instagram along with the hashtag “#Australiainbound” along with various other motivational comments.

Joining him are DS staff Jason Fox, Matthew Ollerton and Mark Billingham, who all arrived on the weekend.

“Standard last minute packing shenanigans! Here we come Australia. Skis are staying btw! 🦘🇦🇺💪🏻 #SASAustralia” posted Fox.

Filming is due to get underway next month, although it isn’t confirmed if Jindabyne will again serve as the key location. But shooting in Autumn means there is little chance of snow being a feature this time round. The four will also test challenges on site ahead of filming.

Meanwhile claims that visiting celebrities were taking up precious hotel quarantine rooms have been refuted. The Sydney Morning Herald reported The Voice coach Rita Ora recently stayed in regular hotel quarantine at the Meriton Suites Sussex Street, though she organised a separate room within the hotel so she wouldn’t take up space that could be used by returning travellers.

Ant Middleton recently parted ways with the original UK series SAS: Who Dares Wins after Channel 4 and Minnow Films stated “our views and values are not aligned.”

SAS Australia is due to screen later this year on Seven.

  1. So excited Season 2 is coming! I loved the 2020 series, but I do hope they move on from the Snowy Mountains? Maybe a tropical location like the Top End could be used for this season?

    1. Part of the series was having having the contestants deal with the cold. A big part of everyones discomfort would be eliminated if they went north.
