The 2021 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras screens tonight on SBS, relocated from its tradition Oxford Street home due to COVID restrictions.

A very special Welcome to Country curated by Ben Graetz will be performed at the start of the show featuring John Leha, singer/songwriter Scott Hunter, plus Koomurri dancers, NAISDA dancers and Buuja Butterfly dancers.

The Dykes on Bikes will then take to the stadium on their hogs to perform a lap, heralding the start of the glittering Parade, led with the First Nations and 78ers floats.

  1. Not sure the geo-block was lifted (or maybe I was doing something wrong), but I couldn’t get the stream to work from the UK – just kept getting playback errors on both the app and through the webpage. Thankfully, I managed to catch some from a YouTuber live streaming from up in the stands.

  2. Whoever programmed the overnight programming of Rage deserves some serious props ~ that is such a stellar and aware setlist.
