why was H&A so low.
You can see by the numbers, not on in 2 cities due to AFL.
Thursday night and not one program went close to cracking a million. With so many more options these days it’s hardly surprising. Mine is a family of ten spanning three generations and I doubt any watch fta more than an hour a day. Is the decline real or are we overstating it David?
Thursday is a quirk in programming because of sport. AFL / NRL in separate states means Seven and Nine run other shows in some states. Earlier in the week MAFS had a few nights over 1m, plus News. I suspect in your family of 10 there is a lot of fragmented viewing on individual screens. This differs from a decade ago when there was more communal viewing of the TV in the corner.
Thanks. That all makes sense. Our house has 5 televisions. Now that’s fragmentation!
And once again AFL / NRL stoush begins. No more comments on this for now, sigh.
Money tells you what is going on The AFL based on its ratings has a greater income from broadcasting than the NRL does .. that’s all you need to look to to know what is going on
In reverse 2 men and a dog watch NRL in Melbourne and the all states other then Sydney and Brisbane.
Shows the problems with having national figures. Everybody watches AFL in its markets and the same for NRL. When there are different programs in each city, national figures don’t really capture the market. AFL was #1 in Melbourne but 2 men and a dog watched it in Sydney.
about average for the multi channels, which they were screened on, in those cities – still better than 0
