US drama The Right Stuff, an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s 1979 nonfiction book of the same name, has reportedly been cancelled.
The series, starring Patrick J. Adams. seemingly didn’t have the right stuff for Disney+, but producers Warner Bros. Television are said to be looking for a new home.
Variety reports the cancellation was not tied to the show’s performance but a redesign of National Geographic’s strategic focus.
Two versions of the show are currently being shopped around, one of which involves the current cast’s contracts being extended, but another that focuses on the 1980s with a new cast.
Whether this also impacts on the future of Genius, another drama by Nat Geo, is unclear.

I agree ,the movie had good stars and was entertaining ,I think it’s safe to say this series didn’t have the right stuff.
I cant say this news was unexpected, the series is slow moving and 60’s stodgy in places, most of the actual story of The Right Stuff was done a lot better in the 1983 movie of the same name, in this show the excitement factor was definitely missing.
Some more action / adventure would have helped the renewal prospects of The Right Stuff a lot.
